As of June 29, 2019, Barbara Sue Brodie NeedleWorks Is Closed.
When B. Sue opened NeedleWorks in 1999 (on Laurens Avenue), she had lived in Aiken for just a few years. After many previous moves and one child already in college, she knew that she and her husband would be settling here, but they had only just reached AARP eligibility. While Husband was starting a new business, what would B. Sue do? In each new city and in all her travels, B. Sue always sought out the local needlepoint and knitting shops, and Aiken seemed like the place where she could BE the local shop she enjoyed patronizing.
For 20 years she has enjoyed fulfilling her desire to bring the best needlepoint and knitting—“the good stuff”—to you. She is especially grateful to you who defied, or at least balanced, the Internet-shopping boom, which happened to grow at the same time as her endeavor. Thank you for shopping in person and keeping a small downtown retail area alive and unique.
Needlepointers, Take Heart.
While B. Sue has closed her bricks-and-mortar shop, she will continue to serve needlepointers through her web site. She will still be your go-to expert for finishing, as well as purchasing canvas and threads. This site will be updated with her online store after the closing. Her phone number and email address will stay the same.
